Vacation Theology…

I believe in vacations for at least two reasons:

The first reason is Biblical. When God created the nation Israel under Moses’ leadership in the Old Testament, He (God) gave them a new calendar. On that calendar were 3 weeks of holiday (Holy Days). These days were oriented to family time.

The second reason is practical. How many times have you heard the story of someone’s younger years with the highlights being family vacations? I do not fully understand it, but I have heard the story so many times, I dare not ignore it. Maybe this reason goes back to the first reason. God knows we need three weeks of family time per year! That is what my Bible says!
